Playing in the waves of Southern California since his earliest memory, Jeff fell in love with wind sports early in his teens. Upon graduation from the Naval Academy, he was commissioned in the Navy. In addition to having employment right after college, the Navy offered the incredible opportunity to surf, kitesurf, and windsurf in a bunch of cool places around the world - including the Outer Banks, Corpus Christi, Oahu, the Caribbean, Chile, Bahrain, Italy, Spain, Panama, Nicaragua, and three awesome years in Peru. He retired from active duty to Kauai, where he and has family have called home since 2012.
Since his struggle while teaching himself to foil in 2018, he has made it his mission to share his knowledge, gear and skills for this awesome sport. Focusing not on brands, but on the features and capabilities of the best gear out there, Jeff has since taught a few hundred people to foil, and goes prone foil surfing and wing foiling as often as possible. He considers harnessing the elements while flying over a wave to be the ultimate re-charging activity.
Seth comes to the foil game with an eclectic background of experience. While he’s lived all over the map… NC, FL, CA, Costa Rica, Australia, Thailand, and now Hawaii, his residence and travels have always been connected to the ocean. With a fine arts education in Australia, he’s established a successful career as an international, commission based artist and mural painter. In between projects he’s worked in customer service, retail and wetsuit management for Rip Curl, and as a master SCUBA diver trainer. These days, if he’s not in the water, he is mentoring youth projects and playing gigs as a solo musician and band member with the Napali Coasters.
Seth got on a foil for the first time with Jeff driving the Paka’a Foil boat in 2021 and the bug bit him bad. He came to foiling as a lifelong shortboard surfer that was suffering from a neck issue that made prone paddling almost impossible. When he discovered he could use a wind wing and foil to get back out on the reefs and tow himself into waves, he was really HOOKED! Seth now helps test gear and teach occasional lessons while creating content and spreading stoke. He rides for Onix Foils and Five-0 Wings.
